What we collect, and why
When you visit our website
Like most websites, ours automatically records some technical information, your browser type, device, and the date and time you visited, mainly to keep the site secure and working properly. We keep this for up to seven days, after which it’s deleted or anonymised. We don’t use it to identify you personally or for marketing.
Our basis: legitimate interest, in keeping our website secure and functioning.
When you contact us
If you email us or use the contact form, we’ll store what you send us, your name, email address, and message, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. We keep this for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, then delete the rest within about a week.
Our basis: legitimate interest, in responding to you; contract, if your enquiry is about arranging our services.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
We’ll ask for your name and email address so we can send it to you. We keep this for as long as you stay subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you immediately.
Our basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
When you engage with us on social media
We have company profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram. If you comment, like, or message us there, that platform processes your data under its own privacy policy, not ours, we have limited control over it. We use these profiles to share updates and speak with current and prospective clients.
Our basis: legitimate interest, in communicating with clients and prospects; consent, for any promotional activity.
Cookies
We use cookies, small files stored on your device, to make our website work properly and, where you allow it, to understand how it’s used.
Essential cookies
are always on. They handle things like remembering your language preference and keeping the site functional. We couldn’t run the site properly without them.
Non-essential cookies are only set with your permission, which you can give or withdraw at any time using the cookie banner.
We use Cookiebot, provided by Cybot A/S in Denmark, to record and manage your cookie choices. It only stores your consent decision, not your browsing activity.
Who we share your information with
We don’t sell your personal information, to anyone, ever.
We share it only with the trusted service providers who help us run our website and business, currently including our hosting provider and Cookiebot. Where a provider is based outside the UK, we make sure your data still gets an equivalent level of legal protection, either because that country is officially recognised as adequate by the UK government, or through a specific contractual safeguard.
How long we keep your information
Generally, for as long as our relationship with you continues, plus a short period afterwards to handle any final queries or legal requirements. Specific periods are noted above where they differ from this.
Your rights
You have a number of rights over the personal information we hold about you. You can:
- Ask what we hold. Request a copy of your information and how we use it.
- Correct it. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete it. In most cases, though a few legal exceptions apply, for example where we need to keep records for tax purposes.
- Ask us to pause using it. While we look into a concern you’ve raised.
- Take it elsewhere. Get a copy in a portable format to move to another provider, where relevant.
- Particularly to any use of your data for direct marketing, at any time, no reason needed.
These map to Articles 15 to 21 of the UK GDPR. Get in touch if you’d like the full legal detail behind any of them explained.
How to complain
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal information, tell us first: email info@stryke.co.uk and we’ll look into it properly, without undue delay, and keep you updated until it’s resolved.
You can also complain to the UK’s data protection regulator at any time, whether or not you’ve raised it with us first:
